Letters to Fr Aubrey Gwynn SJ from Dr George Maguire concerning his late brother Conor, and a Fr Peter Golding, an Irish teacher at Clongowes Wood College (Dr. Maguire went to Clongowes from 1902 to 1907; Fr Gwynn from 1903 to 1908). Fr Richard Golding SJ taught Irish at CWC. Dr Maguire writes that his father taught Fr Golding Irish when he was living in Cong.

A file relating to the 'Bruton Controversy/Debt'. In February 1884, Dr Bruton, a Dublin merchant transferred, to the Apostolic School, Mungret, a debt of £869.2.6 owed to him by Clongowes. According to Bruton's document of transfer, Clongowes was to pay the debt within a reasonable time, and, pending the payment of the principal sum was to pay, in addition, 3% yearly interest to the Apostolic School. Clongowes refused to pay the principal sum or the interest Includes a letter from Irish Fr Provincial Thomas V. Nolan SJ, St Francis Xavier's, Upper Gardiner Street, Dublin to Rector, Fr James Corboy SJ, Mungret College remarking that he has instructed Fr Nicholas J Tomkin SJ, Rector of Clongowes to pay £332.15.4 to Mungret. Remarks that Fr General decided that Clongowes should pay half the interest due on the debt and '…put an end finally to all disputes about the debt.' (25 June 1917, 2pp).

The medal in case, with name of Fernanrd Heremans, Schaerbeek, is a five-armed white enamel and silver-gilt Maltese cross with silver-gilt graduated rays between the arms, on green enamel oval laurel wreath suspension; the face with a gilt-edged circular central blue enamel medallion bearing the gilt crown of Belgium; the reverse with a gilt-edged circular central blue enamel medallion bearing the cipher of King Leopold II, founder of the Order. Personal copybook of Clongowes Wood College SJ student, M[organ] Kavanagh, entitled "English Essays Etc" but actually containing personal songs, poems, riddles and the details of a Tennis tournament in which he reached the final. At the very back of the notebook is a record of exam results for a small group of boys, and which school they originally come from. Inside the front cover is states that "Original songs etc,. dedicated to Mr Gleeson by the Author". Mr William Gleeson SJ taught in in Clongowes Wood College SJ, 1888-1892.

Personal notebook of Clongowes Wood College SJ student, Patrick Simpson [1927]-[1932].
It contains :

1. The rules and meeting places for a group called the "Kalendae Klub";
2. An agreement signed and witnessed that a student would "fag" from Patrick Simpson for one month from 26 September 1926;
3. Retreat Lecture notes, 03-06 December 1926;
4. Programme of a concert in which Patrick Simpson took part;
5. Lists of students names, some lists have monies with names.

Petition signed by all pupils of Clongowes Wood College SJ and submitted to the Fr James Brennan SJ, Rector and Irish Fr Provincial James Murphy SJ, requesting that students be allowed to engage in the study of the Irish language, "if not as one of the examination subjects, at least during some part of the ordinary class and study time" (11pp).
