Schwendimann SJ, Directio Generalis, Apostolatus Orationis, Borgo S. Spirito 5, Rome, Italy to Irish Fr Provincial Thomas Byrne SJ expressing his worry over different dialects in Ireland and the possibility of misinterpretation (21 November 1952, 1p). Includes a copy reply from Fr Provincial explaining that although differences do occur within the Irish language in different parts of Ireland the meaning would not be misinterpreted (26 November 1952, 1p).

A file of letters from Fr Richard Golding SJ, Clongowes Wood College SJ to Irish Fr Provincial Thomas V Nolan SJ concerning Irish. Fr Golding writes on the topic of "Fr Provincial's Medal for Irish Essay" awarded at Clongowes Wood College SJ. Most of these letters are correspondence about which topics might best be chosen on which the essay might be written. The winning essay is published in the "The Clongownian" each year, which was being edited by Fr Gerald Corr SJ, who is mentioned a number of times in this capacity. Fr Golding was teacher of Irish in Clongowes at the time.
