Terms and Conditions:
Mary Anderson agrees to let and the other parties agree to take as yearly tenants the above property subject to the payment of the yearly rent or sum of £9., £9: 10: 0 payable quarterly on every 1st day of November, 1st day of February, 1st day of May and 1st day of August in each year, and subject to the tenants paying all relevant rates and taxes. Mary Anderson to have free use of half or more of the shed on the above property. The occupation of Patrick O'Shaughnessy of one acre of the land ‘shall not be deemed to be a breach of this agreement'.

– newspaper clipping referring to a meeting of the Royal Dublin Society before which a paper by Fr Gill entitled ‘The Theory of the Stratified Discharge in Geissler Tubes’ was communicated by the Registrar Mr. Moss (n.d., 1p.);
– letter from Prof Charles J. Joly, D.Sc., F.R.S., Dunsink Observatory, Co. Dublin (Honorary Secretary of the R.D.S.) stating ‘Your beautiful illustration of precession and nutation is quite new to me and I think you should certainly send it to 'Nature'. I am keeping the figures as you kindly say I may’ (24 March 1903, 1p.);

Thomson, F.R.S., who responded for science, said that this was not the first time that he had had the pleasure of meeting and working with members of that Society. Album from Patrick O'Mara’s time as a student at Valkenberg, The Netherlands. The album contains farewell poems in German, Latin, Greek and English by O'Mara’s classmates; a series of photographs and numerous insertions. For preservation reasons the photographs have been removed from the album and are listed below in the order in which they appear. A note in pencil in the album indicates their original position. A photograph of the mill at Valkenburg appears to be missing between J552/ 33 and 34. Unrelated paper insertions have also been listed separately. Photographs of O'Mara at other stages in his early career in the Society of Jesus are included at the end of the album.

Cruise 'This book was kindly given to me by my friend Mr Wm Watson - It is a slighlty modified version of an essay [wrongly] attributed to John Gerson - See Vol III. page 770. of his works. Dated. 1706.' (26 April 1897). Cruise Collect C. I.

Altar notices at St Ignatius, Galway

Lined notebooks and journals with handwritten entries for notices to be read out at Sunday Mass at St Ignatius, Galway. Each entry is headed with the relevant Sunday’s Title, such as the ‘Sixteenth Sunday after Pentecost’, the ‘First Sunday of Lent’ etc, or the name of the relevant Feast, ‘Palm Sunday’. Each volume contains announcements in relation to rosaries, benedictions, devotions, novenas, confessions, Mass times, arrangements for Feast Days. There are also announcements in relation to recent deaths in the parish, and requests for prayers for the repose of the souls of those recently deceased and of those whose anniversaries occur. Insert letter, incomplete, in 1912-1914 journal, from an Ursuline nun [Sullivan], and referencing Fr Robert giving a mission in Queenstown (21 August 1862).
