Scrapbook belonging to Fr William Gleeson SJ containing poetry, observations on the weather at Milltown Park (1884-[1886]; 1892-1896), the comings and goings at Clongowes Wood College (1887-1892) and general notes. Transcribes letters written and articles from 'The Month'.

Personal copybook of Clongowes Wood College SJ student, M[organ] Kavanagh, entitled "English Essays Etc" but actually containing personal songs, poems, riddles and the details of a Tennis tournament in which he reached the final. At the very back of the notebook is a record of exam results for a small group of boys, and which school they originally come from. Inside the front cover is states that "Original songs etc,. dedicated to Mr Gleeson by the Author". Mr William Gleeson SJ taught in in Clongowes Wood College SJ, 1888-1892.

Documents inserted loose into the scrapbook belonging to Fr William Gleeson SJ, including newspaper clippings of a rugby match, two letters, handwritten map, prayer cards, receipts, poetry and list of retreats given (1920).

‘Novices’ Pensions’ - Lists novices, the amount of their annual pensions, number of years in noviceship, and observations.

Letters from Fr William Gleeson SJ to Irish Fr Provincial Thomas V. Nolan SJ concerning a debenture and the giving of a parish mission in Kerry.

Letter from [Mons] Smollen P.P. & Vic. Gen. to Fr William I. Gleeson SJ. Grants to the latter all faculties that he may require for nuns and others who may call on him during his stay at Monaghan [on a parish mission].

Letter from Fr William Gleeson SJ, writing from St Aloysius College, Garnethill, Glasgow, to an unidentified Jesuit in Ireland. Refers to the mission in which he finds himself, and to the Jesuits who work there, most of whom are English. Also describes the Irish who have come to the area. Claims that they lose self respect there, and refers to the bad quality of their houses, and to their drinking. Adds that ‘[t]he women are awful’. (Incomplete).
