Letter from Fr William Gleeson SJ, writing from St Aloysius College, Garnethill, Glasgow, to an unidentified Jesuit in Ireland. Refers to the mission in which he finds himself, and to the Jesuits who work there, most of whom are English. Also describes the Irish who have come to the area. Claims that they lose self respect there, and refers to the bad quality of their houses, and to their drinking. Adds that ‘[t]he women are awful’. (Incomplete).

Personal copybook of Clongowes Wood College SJ student, M[organ] Kavanagh, entitled "English Essays Etc" but actually containing personal songs, poems, riddles and the details of a Tennis tournament in which he reached the final. At the very back of the notebook is a record of exam results for a small group of boys, and which school they originally come from. Inside the front cover is states that "Original songs etc,. dedicated to Mr Gleeson by the Author". Mr William Gleeson SJ taught in in Clongowes Wood College SJ, 1888-1892.
