Book taken from the Cruise Library, St Francis Xavier Community, Upper Gardiner Street, Dublin entitled 'Alphabetum divini amoris'. With note by Sir Francis R. Cruise 'This book was kindly given to me by my friend Mr Wm Watson - It is a slighlty modified version of an essay [wrongly] attributed to John Gerson - See Vol III. page 770. of his works. Copy of ‘The Irish Monthly’, No. 174, Vol. XV,December 1887 published by M.H Gill & Son, with insert pp716-717 - letter from R M Levey, Violet Hill, Vico Road, Dalkey, Dublin to Dr Francis Cruise refering to Cruise's book on 'Thomas A Kempis' (14 May 1895), reviewed in said issue of ‘The Irish Monthly’. Dr Cruise name wriiten on front of ‘The Irish Monthly’.

Requests a meeting with Rev Tuite SJ; includes a letter from Dr Cruise, 93 Merrion Square, Dublin to Rev Tuite concerning Fr Cullen. Remarks ‘I don’t find any objection to his carrying out this wish.’.

Inserted page explains that Sir Francis Cruise loaned this book to Sister Francis, Harold's Cross, Dublin (6 January 1886).

Material relating to a translation of Thomas Kempis ’s 'The Imitation of Christ' by Fr. Thaddeus, O.F.M.. Includes newspaper articles and correspondence of, and concerning Sir. Francis Cruise, the author of a 1904 translation of 'The Imitation of Christ'. (This material was found among the papers of Fr William A. Sutton SJ, the connection between it and F. Sutton is unknown.

Sir Francis Cruise left his collection of books to the library of St Francis Xavier's, Upper Gardiner Street.
