Letter to Mr Hilary Lawton SJ from Fr Michael Browne SJ, Rathfarnham Castle, Dublin, stating that there was no need for a previous apology made by Mr Lawton to him. Fr Browne asks to be included in Mr Lawton's prayers to the Virgin Mary. He states, ‘She has done marvellous things for me all through life, but especially during my 56 years in the Society’.

  • to Irish Frs Provincial Thomas Byrne SJ expressing concern that the number of men has has to staff the "Clongowes Certificate in Education" is insufficient, and suggesting some additions (26 August 1847, 1p);
  • to Irish Fr Provincial Michael A O'Grady SJ expressing concern that the number of unqualified "Registered" Jesuit teachers at the College impacts the level of state aid the College can receive (26 September 1953, 3pp). Attached to this letter is a list of Jesuit teachers engaged at the school and indicating their qualification to be "registered" (1p);
  • to Irish Fr Provincial Michael A O'Grady SJ expressing concern about the level of ability of some Jesuit teachers and requesting that the College might employ some additional lay masters (17 November 1953, 1p).
