A file of letters from Fr John Ffrench SJ (all except one dated 2 September 1870 are written from Gesú, Rome) to Irish Fr Provincial Nicholas Walsh SJ (term 20 April 1870 - 17 March 1877). Fr Ffrench's letters were written in his capacity as English Assistant to Fr General. As a result all of the letters have an official slant. Fr Ffrench, SJ died in Rome on 31 May 1873.
